Happy March! And happy first anniversary to Word of Mouth Healing Arts! I officially started working as a massage therapist one year ago. I’m grateful for the many opportunities I’ve had to work with clients and to keep learning about the body.
I started this year by attending another wonderful lomilomi workshop. One of the guiding themes was connecting the body with our landscape, so we drove around the island to experience the great back of Kualoa and the belly of Kūkaniloko, bringing that natural imagery and power back to the treatment room. It’s been a joy to hold these places in mind in my massage practice.
To celebrate my first anniversary, I’m offering a bonus essential oils treatment with any massage until the end of April. Your bonus treatment may be focused on soothing those hard working hands and forearms with cooling essential oils, or bringing deep relaxation and ease through an abdominal massage infused with calming oils.
If you have never had an abdominal massage, not only does it feel great, but it supports digestion and calms the nervous system by engaging the vagus nerve, the connection between the brain in your head and the brain in your gut. As a fan of wandering (and wondering), I loved learning that vagus is Latin for wandering and straying.
Whatever your wanderings, I hope they bring you to joy.
